Reboane Obotseng and Charissa Botha shine at University of Witwatersrand 5km night run!

Johannesburg - Reboane Obotseng and Charissa Botha showcased their remarkable speed at the University of Witwatersrand 5KM night run in Johannesburg on Wednesday 07 February 2024, becoming the fastest Athletes to complete a 5km night run on the University soil with their astonishing finishing times of 16:57 and 21:26 respectively.

 

According to Botha, she sees herself running at a professional level and representing her country at an international stage, the first year student just came back from injury but that did not stopped her from winning the 5km night run last night. “ Her future plans are actually to try more and go to the under 20 Junior Championships in August this year. "She said".



On the man's race, Reboane who is under the guidance of the well known South African athlete of yesteryear Hendrick Ramala, finished the race in style as he shown no signs of fatigue. He intended to make a yearly victory but the rules of the event prevent him from winning it back to back. He is now eyeing to qualify for World Athletics Cross Country Championships.
