The Comrades Marathon Wall of Honour was created several decades ago to serve as a permanent landmark to commemorate the achievements of Comrades Marathon runners who have completed the epic journey between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The wall is constructed of attractive interlocking blocks of the type commonly used for retaining walls.

Runners who have successfully finished the Comrades Marathon are able to purchase their own block to mark this notable achievement. A beautiful plaque is mounted on this block which records the name, race number and status of the runner, which can be updated in later years.

Plaques are purchased by runners, family members or friends on their behalf to be presented as gifts for special birthdays, anniversaries, Comrades milestones or other occasions.

A runner who already has a plaque on the wall and who achieves their Green Number, Double, Triple or Quadruple Green Number can upgrade their plaque on the wall to reflect their esteemed Green Number status. Only one block/plaque per finisher is permitted.

Due to further upgrades on the Wall of Honour we will only be open for new applications from 1 November 2024.  We are working on the current waiting list for applications that were received when work on the wall commenced.

As of 1 November a link will be made available on our website (see: www.comrades.com/about/wall-of-honour) to the new online application form. You will be able to complete the required details online and must follow the instructions on the form.
